2/11/2014 S.P.A.R.K. Program (school supply drive)
Activity Description:  The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Amarillo has taken on a new initiative to “Encourage Amarillo children to grow and prosper by providing them the tools necessary to spark their passion”, introducing the S.P.A.R.K. program! We are inviting you to Support Parks And Recreation Kids this summer! How can you help? It’s as easy as a box of crayons! The S.P.A.R.K. program will begin with the annual summer School Supply Drive. We are requesting donations from the public consisting of any NEW school supplies to fill the student’s backpacks. Amarillo ISD supply list for elementary, middle school, and high school consists of: plastic baggies, crayons, dry erase markers, glue sticks, bottles of glue, tissues, markers, scissors, pencils, folders, spirals, erasers, pencil boxes/bags, colored pencils, composition notebooks, notebook paper, binders, pens, highlighters, rulers, etc. *New backpacks/bags, girls and boys white socks, white t-shirts, and shoes are also a need for students.
